“Mom, I have a secret plan. I need to get bigger so I can be a superhero!”

Judah had gotten out some wooden blocks to play with. All was well until I saw one shoot across the room. I reminded him that blocks were for building and not throwing. He looked at me and said (as serious as can be), “I wasn’t throwing. I was trying to figure out another way to build a tower.”

Future engineer?

Future lawyer?

Bedtime Stories

Tonight Judah told Daddy a story before going to bed. It went like this:

“I was flying really high in a really fast jet plane and it dropped me out the window at Gigi’s house. I was hurt so the fire truck came and the police. I all better now… My bug bites are all gone.”

…and now Kasey is recapping “Top Gun” for Judah’s entertainment!

I was chasing Judah around the living room. Finally, he jumps up on the chair, turns around to face me, smiles and says, “I beat you to me!”… I guess he did 🙂

Judah is proving to be a great “big brother.” He gave Genesis a huge hug yesterday and whispered in her ear that she was special.

On the way home from the Boardwalk we stopped so Kasey could run into a store. Genesis got a little fussy, but Judah grabbed her hand and said “It’s okay, Baby Gen’sis. I’m staying in the car with you.”

Everyday he amazes me at how much he’s taking in and processing. Right now he’s hooked on a TV show called UmiZoomi (a math-oriented show) and is trying to process numbers and counting and shapes. Even attempting counting backwards (as his rocket takes off) 10…9….8…7…10..1 BLAST OFF!

He recognizes several letters, and knows that “J” is for Judah! Speaking of names… He understands that we have more than one name. For example, he is Judah Paul Ro’son. Kasey is “Kasey Daddy Ro’son,”

One tradition that we’re carrying on with Judah is “blanket rides”. Remember those? You lay a blanket on the ground, lie down on one end, and the other person (me) grabs the corners and pulls (Judah) through the hallway to his room (fast!). This has become his preferred method of travel to his room for all naps and bedtime. Love it!

His dad must’ve taught him how to play ski-ball (the rocket in the above pic is the reward from the arcade):

When Kids Pray

Mom —  August 2, 2013 — Leave a comment

Judah has started praying on his own.

His first prayer came shortly after he requested to go to a friends house and we explained that we needed to be invited first. Naturally, having the faith of a child, immediately bowed his head and prayed that his friend’s mom would call me and invite Judah over– because he really wanted to play with his friends toys…

His second prayer was rather spontaneous. After he was done. I asked what he prayed for. He replied (with great enthusiasm, I might add!) that God was going to give him a fire truck– a REAL fire truck that squirts water!

We have, since, been invited to his friends house. We are, however, still waiting for the REAL fire truck.
